Township of Long Hill Spring Challenge Grant

Submitted by Mary DeLello

The Challenge Grant this Spring was sponsored by the Long Hill Shade Tree Commission and resulted in 24 trees being planted in Long Hill Township. The trees included maples, oaks, redbuds, pears and others. The hard-working DPW team planted them in the first week of May.

This program was so popular this Spring that three requests had to be turned down because of limits on the DPW’s time. It has been offered each Spring for almost 20 years. Forms appear in the paper and online at the Township website in March.
