Leave Me by Gayle Forman
Maribeth Klein has it all—and that’s the problem. The main character in Gayle Forman’s absorbing first adult novel has a career, family and a home with a desirable Manhattan zip code.

Things go from bad to worse when, following surgery & a hospital stay, her family expects her to return to business as usual. So Maribeth takes off. She heads from NYC to Pittsburgh, for reasons that Forman slowly but skillfully makes clear. Once in Pittsburgh, Maribeth takes up with a younger set of neighbors and an older doctor, who help her come to terms with what she’s left behind. But a more glaring revelation awaits, providing Leave Me with some of its most tender moments.

AARP Defensive Driving Class, Wed, Oct 11, 10:30am to 5pm
Why Take an AARP Driver Safety Course? Because driving has changed since you first got your license, and doing so could save you money on your car insurance!

By taking a driver safety course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. You’ll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. You will have a greater appreciation of driving challenges and of how you can avoid potential collisions and injuries to yourself and others.

You may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing the course, so consult your agent for details. Although the course is geared to drivers age 50 and older, the course is open to people of all ages.

AARP membership is not required to take the course and there are no tests to pass. The classroom course costs only $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.
