The Library’s 2022 annual appeal was a huge success!

Long Hill Library’s 2022 annual appeal

The Foundation of the Long Hill Township Public Library is delighted to announce the completion of their 2022 annual appeal, meeting their goal and raising more than $25,000 in donations from local residents and businesses.

The Long Hill Library is a vital hub for our community, where people of all ages can read, learn, and play. In addition to the library’s book clubs, summer reading programs, author talks, movies and art classes, the library also brings our community together for fun inclusive events. Have you played a game with your neighbor at a library Board Game Night or “roasted” smores at a library Camp Out? Maybe you’ve created a mini- masterpiece for the library’s Mini Art Show. Look for more community events to come in the second half of the year.

Albie Ashbrook, Assistant Director of the Long Hill Township Public Library, said “We love being a part of this community. We are thrilled to welcome Gillette School students to the library for library card registration events. Their love of learning is contagious. We love seeing them come back to work on our monthly scavenger hunts inside the building or read our outside story walk. We are inspired by our English learners and their commitment to life-long learning. We have students from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Iran, Ukraine, El Salvador and Columbia! We love welcoming residents to our arts classes including those taught by the Gates Avenue Knitters, local art teachers of Blue Duck Art Studio, and by local flower arranger, Brenda Liberti. We couldn’t offer all the programs and services we provide to the community without the financial support of the Library Foundation.”

At the conclusion of this year’s appeal, with the generous support of the community, the Foundation donated over $6,000 to support library programs and services. The remaining funds raised will be used to grow the endowment fund, which was established in 2015 to help ensure the viability and sustainability of the library for years to come.

“The library foundation wishes to express our deepest thanks to those who contributed this year in support of the library today and in the future ,” said Library Foundation Board President, Lisa Hoffmann. A complete list of donors can be found at fflhtpl.org.
