Long Hill Girl Scouts hold Annual SWAPfest at Millington School

Annual SWAPfest at Millington School

Long Hill Twp Girl Scout Service Unit all came together on Friday evening February 2nd to create “SWAPS” at Millington School. “SWAPS” is a clever acronym for “Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere”.  Over 100 scouts participated from 13 Troops in Long Hill. Troop levels participating ranged from the youngest Kindergarten Daisy level through the Middle School Cadette level. Each Troop hosted their own table providing enough supplies for the scouts to create a specific Swap.  This event encourages both the young and older scouts to not only craft together but mentor and help each other while moving from table to table each creating 13 Swaps to bring home. These Swaps will be brought to future service unit events like our spring camp out and exchanged among the scouts.  Some of the unique swaps created at the event ranged from ice cream cones to inch worms to butterfly rings.

Long Hill Girl Scouts are committed to giving back to the community with each participant providing  food/personal care donation items for Twelve Baskets Pantry.
