Lois Bass Wins Business and Community Award

The Linden Industrial Association (LIA) announced at its recent virtual meeting that Infineum’s Lois Bass is the recipient of the 2020 LIA Business and Community Award. It recognizes exemplary civic contributions to the City of Linden, her employer, and the community. The LIA promotes cooperation between member businesses and the City of Linden as good corporate citizens, seeking an open and responsible exchange.

“Lois has become the face of Infineum in the community,” said Lissette Gonzalez, communications coordinator at Infineum. “She has a passion to help others and, as a company, we are proud of all her work.”

Bass, a 40-year Linden resident, is the community relations coordinator at Infineum, one of the world’s leading formulators, manufacturers, and marketers of fuel and lubricant additives. The company is located at the Regional Business and Technology Centre on East Linden Avenue. She has been instrumental in organizing countless events that include American Cancer and American Heart walks, Bring Your Daughter and Son to Work Day, Never Forget Thy Neighbor food, back-to-school, and holiday drives, Read Across America, and Junior Achievement In A Day for a local Linden school. She has also recruited judges for science fairs locally to enhance STEAM and coordinated Habitat for Humanity teams to go out on builds.

“The LIA has been a proud member of the Linden community for 85 years,” said James K. Estabrook, LIA’s Secretary and partner with prominent law firm Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper (Westfield, NJ). “As the entire country goes through these challenging times, it is critical for our organization to stand by and support the businesses of Linden.”

Bass was scheduled to receive her award at LIA’s annual dinner in April but, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event was canceled.
