Free Summer Movies Return at the Linden Public Library

Linden Public Library Summer Movies

Show times are Tuesday and Friday afternoons at 1:00 p.m.

The Linden Public Library is proud to reinstate its popular film series presentations, beginning on July 13. Films will be shown free of charge on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, July 13, the library will present the romantic comedy, Keeping the Faith. This 2000 film is about three New York youngsters who reconnect as adults. It stars Edward Norton, Ben Stiller and Jenna Elfman and it was directed by Norton. In advance of the Summer Games in Tokyo, on Friday, July 16, the library will try to increase everyone’s Olympic interest with the 1981 Oscar winner for Best Picture, Chariots of Fire, which focuses on two British runners for Cambridge- one Christian, one Jewish- during their preparation for the 1924 Paris Olympic games.

For the balance of the summer movies, the library will offer films which were nominated for Academy Awards in 2019 and 2020. The 2019 films will be presented on Tuesdays with the 2020 films shown on Fridays. All films are shown in the Columbia Bank Room, thanks to funding from the Friends of Linden Public Library.

Located at 31 East Henry Street, the Linden Public Library has been at the center of the city’s social, cultural, artistic and educational life since it was founded in 1928. If you have any questions about the films, please call the library at 908-298-3830.
