Members of the Linden Police Department once again participated in the Law Enforcement United “Road to Hope” ride to remember and honor Police Officers killed in the line of duty.
The ten participants joined more than 500 others from across the state in the three day, nearly 300 mile ride from Atlantic City, NJ to Washington DC. The team comprised of cyclists Joe Cacioppo, John Vasquez, John Condora, and Gabby Mesaros, motorcycle officers Pete Hammer, John Halkias, Marco Abrantes, and Renald Dume, and support staff Dolph Joseph and Eric Deryce.
This is the second year Team Linden has participated in the Law Enforcement United ride, after more than a decade riding in the Police Unity Tour. “The funds raised by the LEU ride include support for the familes of fallen law enforcement officers, and that is something that really resonated with us,” said Team Linden organizer Joe Cacioppo.
This year the team raised more than $11,000 to benefit charities that include Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and The Officer Down Memorial Page (O.D.M.P.) among others.
