Chatham Jaycees Awards CTVFD a Fire Prevention Grant

Chatham Jaycees Awards Grant to CTVFD

Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department

The Chatham Jaycees awarded the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department (CTVFD) a $1,500 grant to purchase fire prevention materials for distribution during public education events throughout Chatham Township.

Through this funding, CTVFD can continue to deliver on its mission “to preserve life and property, promote public safety, and foster community support through volunteerism, fundraising and collaboration”. Distribution of simple and engaging handouts that catch the interest of the public (and especially children) educate and build awareness for the danger of fire hazards. Coloring books enable adults to explain simple, life-saving steps should a fire situation occur, thus educating and empowering our youth to be more aware of the dangers of fire hazards and how to avoid them.

“We are so grateful for the longstanding support and partnership with the Chatham Jaycees. This funding will go a long way to increase awareness and educate our community on fire prevention and safety,” said Richard Gentles, CTVFD, President.

William Heap, Chatham Jaycees President said, “Jaycees are committed to supporting our community and ensuring its safety. We are happy to support such a wonderful cause and are grateful to the fine men and women of the CTVFD for their volunteer service.”
