Community Night Out – Tues., August 3rd
The Linden Police Department will host our annual Community Night Out on Tuesday, August 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on N. Wood Avenue in front of City Hall. This is a public event, so everyone is invited to join us for food, giveaways, and entertainment, all free of charge.
Community Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The goal of this event, and other community-oriented events like it, is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It is also a great opportunity for police and neighbors to come together and get to know each other under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in similar events across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas and select areas celebrate on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.
