Residents Can Report Dark Street Lights to JCP&L for Faster Service

Light Up Berkeley Heights effort continues

The Township of Berkeley Heights is encouraging residents to report lights out on your streets. The Berkeley Heights Police Department and DPW Director launched the initiative “Light Up Berkeley Heights” in 2021 to repair damaged or burned-out street lights. We now need your help! When reports are made directly to JCP&L from residents, lights will be fixed faster which will help prevent attempted crimes in the area that have been occurring as of late. Do your part in neighborhood safety by reporting light outages directly to JCP&L. Please see below JCP&L contact information along with what should be reported.

Residents are to take pictures of the pole’s serial number which can be found directly on the wood portion of the streetlight pole starting with the letter “BHT.”  The program is only for existing light fixtures. Report can be made by logging in to this link or by  calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
