Grant received for “Paper Pals” crafting program

Kathleen Czarnecki, Senior Programming Library Assistant

The Kenilworth Public Library is a proud recipient of a Level-Up Your Library Grant in the amount of $5,000. This generous mini-grant, supported by funds from LibraryLink NJ will allow us to continue and expand our “Paper Pals” paper crafting program.

Our program started off small, featuring card making projects that were created by coloring with pencils and markers. Now our program has grown to include the use of various die-cutting machines, stamps and dies. We plan to use these funds to replace worn out equipment, dies and accessories; and increase the amount of machines, dies and tools available so we can offer an even greater hands-on experience.

This grant will help us expand our program to incorporate additional techniques into our program. Thanks to this generous mini-grant, beginning in July we will expand this program to include additional evening programming dates for our “Paper Pals” program. In addition to our regular projects, we will be creating cards and tags for residents currently living in assisted living facilities. This is a beautiful tie-in with the Library’s summer reading theme of “All Together Now.”

Kenilworth Public Library “Paper Pals” currently meets the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2-4 p.m.  This is a free program for adults.
