LHS Students Send Valentine Cards to St Jude’s
The Linden High School Community Service Club is sponsoring an effort to bring a little cheer to a sick child.
Students are spreading the word about how to send virtual Valentine’s Day cards to patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Senders can go to the website and design a card to be sent to a sick child for Valentine’s Day. Anyone can send as many cards as they like for free to brighten the children’s day. There are options of English and Spanish cards and sayings.

“I think this is such a great example for Valentine’s Day!” said Linden High School Principal Yelena Horré. “In my view, this is truly what Valentine’s Day should be about this year, more than most. It’s a reminder that we get joy by giving joy. So many people are in need right now.”
The website allows a sender to pick from several pieces of artwork inspired by St. Jude patients. They can then write a personal message or choose a pre-written message.
“The Community Service Club has been looking for ways to get involved this school year,” said adviser Holly Sepulveda, a business education teacher. “We realize that it takes more than asking for donations, and with many involvements being virtual, the club explored different ways to help. St. Jude has done this with many holidays, sending cards to the children to brighten their day.”
