Letter to the Editor from Mayor Colleen Mahr

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Borough of Fanwood, I would like to proudly congratulate the class of 2018 from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School on graduating this June, especially our own Fanwood residents. Your parents, neighbors, friends and fellow residents are excited to see what you all will accomplish as young adults in the near future. I would also like to give a special thank you to these students’ families for supporting them in their efforts these past four years.

Our students have made incredible strides in academics, athletics and in the arts this year. Every bit of success leaves a lasting impression on the student body and the culture of the school at-large.

We look forward to seeing those who pursued academic excellence continue to use their minds to better the world around them. We support our graduating athletes as they continue their success on new courts and fields come fall. And we anticipate the beautiful pieces of art, music, and drama that those involved in our school’s arts programs will continue to produce.

Whether you plan to attend college, enter the workforce or take some time to contemplate your first major decisions as an adult, I want to encourage you all to follow your passions and dreams. Enjoy new adventures and remember that whatever you set out to do, you can always call Fanwood your home. Congratulations Class of 2018, and never forget, all roads can lead back here!

Sincerely,
Mayor Colleen Mahr
