Kumpf Students Role Play Monkey’s Paw

Carl H. Kumpf Middle School Language Arts teacher, Marlena Sundo, and Speech Therapist, Judith Koebli, challenged students to role-play acts from the classic horror story, The Monkey’s Paw.
Ms. Sundo and Ms. Koebli led students in a critical analysis of characters, setting, and events of the play. Students assumed roles of Mr. and Mrs. White, Major Morris, Herbert, narrators, and messengers. As a culminating activity, students used imagery depicted in the story to create physical representations of the final scene.
