Kumpf Student Organizes Kids Pajama Drive

Mason Immella, an 8th grade student at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School, is always looking to help his community. This year he decided to organize and lead a kids pajama drive through the Pajama Program (pajamaprogram.org) for children under the age of twelve.

To get the word out, Mason created a flyer and posted it on social media asking for donations. He also contacted one of his schoolteachers, Mrs. Fernandes, and partnered with her to spread the word to students.

Over 100 pairs of pajamas and 122 books were collected!

Mason planned to deliver the items to the Pajama Program’s New Jersey Chapter in Middletown and then stay to help sort out deliveries received from other organizations throughout New Jersey.

Mason believes it’s important to give back; that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in people’s lives. “It makes me feel good to do this… helping other kids with these books and pajamas whose families might not be able to afford them.”
