The Kenilworth Police Department hosted a National Night Out event at Harding Elementary School on Monday, August 5th, 2019. They were joined by Kenilworths’ Fire Department, Rescue Squad, the Union County Prosecutors Office, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers.

The first responders held demonstrations for the kids, and allowed them to explore their vehicles and ask questions. The event also featured a face painting station, inflatable activities, a DJ, and free food.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign celebrated by millions of neighbors across thousands of communities in America to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; Generate support for local anti-crime efforts; Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
