Senior Citizen Picnic

There was a great turnout of the Kenilworth seniors in October for a catered picnic at DiMario Park.

The senior event was put on by the Borough and Senior Director, Kathleen Wierzbinski.

The Senior Center has been closed since March due to COVID-19 Virus. It was time to get our senior community members out of the house and entertained in a safe manner.

Notification was sent out through flyers mailed to the seniors, the Kenilworth web-site and other sources. Masks were worn, hand sanitizer was used and social distancing took place to provide a safe and fun few hours out enjoying lunch, music and each other’s company.

The attendees brought their own chairs and were served boxed lunches.

The Gents, a live band, played “oldies music” which the seniors really enjoyed. Gift bags were given out by Councilman Louis DeMondo that included masks, hand sanitizer, a re-usable shopping bag and snacks.

If you are a senior citizen living in Kenilworth and would like to be added to the mailing list, you can email me your information and I will include you in the next mailing of events: Seniordirector.kenilworth@gmail.com.
