Kenilworth Public Library Spring Programs

The Spring Reading Program at the Kenilworth Public Library begins Monday, March 25 and concludes on Friday, May 10, 2019. Children who were registered for the Winter 2019 reading club we be pre-registered for the spring session. Registration is required for all library programs

Spring Reading Programs include:

Mommy, Daddy & Me,
a parent and child at-home reading program for children ages 2 to 5.

I Can Read
a reading program for children who are just starting to read on their own from ages 6 to 8.

Club Readsalot,
a reading program for children ages 9 to 12.

Kenilworth Public Library Spring Programs:

Lap Sit for ages 0 to 23 months
will be held on the following Tuesdays from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m.:
March 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and May 7.

Toddler Time for 2 year olds
will be held on the following Wednesdays from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m.: March 27, April 3, 10, 17 & 24 and May 1 & 8. Stories, puppets and music just right for young listeners will be introduced.

PJ Story Time for children ages 3 and up
will be held on the following Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.: March 28, April 4, 11, 18 & 25 and May 2 & 9. Children are invited to wear their pajamas to this program, and bring along a stuffed animal, too.

Tech Time At The Library for children ages 4 – 10 years old
will be held on Thursdays at 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.: March 28, April 4, 11, 18 & 25 and May 2 & 9. Children will have an opportunity to independently explore various educational apps featured on one of the library’s Samsung tablets. Children under the age of 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult in order to borrow a tablet. A library card will be required in order to participate in this program. Headphones will be provided when using the tablets. Children are welcome to bring their own headphones or earbuds to use with the tablets too.

Lego At The Library for 4 – 12 year olds
will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.: March 29, April 12 and May 3. Lego at the Library is made possible by donations from the Walmart Local Giving Program and Jackie Fidurski.

Bingo for Young Children
will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. for children ages 3 and up: April 5 and May 10. Games may include A-B-C Bingo, Number Bingo and Color & Shape Bingo. Parents must remain in the library during the program.

Bingo for Children Who Can Read will be held on the following Friday from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Activity Room: April 26. Games may include Book Bingo, USA Bingo, History Bingo and Kenilworth Bingo. Parents do not participate in this program.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
Registration is required for all special events.

The Good Tymes String Band will be entertaining children ages 2 & up and their families
at The Kenilworth Public Library on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Foot tapping, knee slapping banjo music & songs for families with children of all ages featuring Raymond Dreitlein, Pete Hauptman and Jay Leipzig.

Meet The Author: Linda Yianolatos will read The Yummy Treats Room to children ages 3 and up
on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Children and their families will have an opportunity to meet the author of the Crystal City Series.

Applause Theater will present a Junie B Jones Musical Review
on Thursday, April 4 at 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. This musical performance highlighting songs from Junie B Jones, The Musical will be directed by Krystle Tomlinson. Children ages 3 and up and their families will enjoy upbeat interactive music highlighting this famous storybook character.

Our Earth: What A Gas! Will be presented by The Grand Falloons
on Thursday, April 11 at 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. for children ages 4 – 12 years old. Children will have an opportunity to participate in interactive science related activities combined with classic family comedy and circus skills. This program has been funded by A Recycling Grant given to the Borough of Kenilworth.

Home Depot Workshop will be presented at the library
on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for ages 5 – 13 years old. Children and teens will have an opportunity to complete a spring related woodworking project to take home. A Home Depot representative will provide instruction and assistance with these projects. Children ages 5 – 9 years old much be accompanied by an assisting adult in order to participate.
