May Children’s Programs at Kenilworth Public Library 

Weekly programs:

Lap Sit: May 2, 23 & 30, 10:30am – 10:50am

Interactive stories and songs for ages 0 – 2 years old

oddler Time: May 3 & 10,10:30am – 10:50am

 Interactive stories, songs and activities for ages 2 – 3 years old

May Special Events

Registration is required for all special events.

(above) Simone Anthony Brown owner of Express Yourself Studio will present a pottery making workshop on May 4.

Express Yourself Pottery Workshop: 3:30pm – 5:00pm on Thursday, May 4.

Participants will learn to sculpt a pot and use air-dry clay.  Use hand-building techniques, slab construction and coil construction. Participants will paint their pot before taking it home  in a box the same day. This workshop will be presented by Simone Anthony Brown.  Ages: 5 – 12

Mother’s Day Craft: 3:30pm – 4:00pm on Friday, May 5.

Create a unique craft to take home and display for ages: 4 – 9.

Boogie Woogie Babies: 10:30am – 11:00am on Tuesday, May 9

Interactive musical program will be presented by Tiffany Taylor for ages: 0-  4

Story Time & Craft:  3:30pm – 4:00pm on Thursday, May 11

Children’s author Roseanne Kurstedt will read her book, And I Think About You. At the conclusion of this program, children will create a craft related to the story. Children ages 3 & up may register for this program.

Memorial Day Craft: 3:30pm – 4:00pm on Friday, May 19

Create a unique craft to take home and display for ages: 4 – 9.

Meet The Alpacas: 3:30pm – 4:30pm on Tuesday, May 23

Participants will learn about alpacas and meet and greet 2 alpacas at the library. This program will be presented by Out Of Sight Alpacas.

Children ages 4 & up, teens and adults may register for this program.

(above) Sandy Szeluga will present Yoga Story Time on May 24.

 Yoga Story Time: 10:30am – 11:00am on Wednesday, May 24

Join us for stories and yoga poses for the youngest listeners and their caregiver. This program will be presented by Sandy Szeluga for ages: 2 –  5.

 Mad Science Workshop: Experiments with Dry Ice on Thursday, May 25  at 3:30pm – 4:30pm. Ages: 4 – 12.  Interactive workshop exploring a unique science theme.

Good Tymes String Band on Wednesday, May 31 at 10:30am – 11:00am.

All ages are welcome to attend and enjoy foot tapping knee slapping music.

Kenilworth residents may begin to register one week prior to each special event.

Out of town residents may begin to register two days prior to each event, space permitting.

May Adult Programs at Kenilworth Public Library 

Join us on Tuesday, May 2 & 16 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm for our card making group “Paper Pals.”  You don’t need any paper crafting experience to join the fun. This is a free program for adults.

Yarnies:  During the month of May we will meet on Thursday, May 4, 11 & 18 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm, and Thursday, May 25 at 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

“Spinning Fibers”: Join us on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:00pm – 7:45pm. Bring your spinning wheel or drop spindle and create beautiful yarns!

If you don’t have a wheel, you are still welcome to join us to learn about spinning.
