OCEANS OF POSSIBILITIES 2022 SUMMER READING CLUB
Monday, June 27 – Friday, August 12
Children ages 2 – 12 years old may begin to register in person for the summer reading club.
Children will receive a reading club bag filled with a calendar of events and other items of interest to curious young minds.
The Reading club is open to children and teens ages 2 – 18 years old.

Mommy, Daddy & Me: (Ages: 2 – 5 years)
Listen to 30 books checked out from the library and receive a free book.

I Can Read: (Ages: 6 – 8 years)
Read 15 Easy Reader Fiction or Nonfiction books checked out from the library and receive a free book.

Club Readsalot: (Ages 9 – 12 years)
Read 7 Junior Fiction or Nonfiction books from the library and receive a free book.

Teens: (Ages 13 – 18 years)
Read 3 Young Adult Fiction or Nonfiction books checked out from the library and receive a free book.
**Teens can register in person for the reading club and request a Reading Book Log.

Weekly programs:

Lap Sit
June 28, July 5, 12, 19 and August 2 & 9
10:30am – 10:50am
Interactive stories and songs for ages 0 – 2 years old.
Toddler Time
July 6 & 13 and August 3 & 10
10:30am – 10:50am
Interactive stories, songs and activities for ages 2 – 3 years old
PJ Story Time
July 14 & 28 and August 4 & 25
6:30pm – 7:00 pm
Stories and a craft for ages 3 & up
Crafts
11:00am – 12:00pm
Create a unique craft to take home and display.
Ages: 4 – 9
Children must be registered in person for the Summer Reading Club in order to register for any special event.

Kenilworth residents may begin to register one week prior to each special event. Out of town residents may begin to register two days prior to each event, space permitting. To register for individual special events, call the library at 908-276-2451.

JULY SPECIAL EVENTS

Patriotic Celebration
Thursday, July 7 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Enjoy interactive music and stories celebrating the USA! This program will be presented by Richard Stillman. Ages: 4 – adult. This program has been funded by a Cultural Arts Grant.

Summer Theme Drawing Workshop with Doug Baron
Thursday, July 7 at 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Learn how to draw and improve artistic skills.
Ages: 8 – adult. This program has been funded by The Friends of The Kenilworth Public Library.

Magic Show presented by Francis Menotti
Monday, July 11 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Ages: 4 – adult. This program has been funded by a Recycling Grant given to the Borough of Kenilworth.

Mad Science Workshop: Wacky Water
Thursday, July 14 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Ages: 4 – 12. Interactive workshop exploring a unique science theme. This program has been funded by The Ralph Errington Foundation.

Meet Penguins From Jenkinson’s Aquarium
Monday, July 18 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Learn about how we can protect the environment for animals, including penguins. Ages: 4 – adult. This program has been funded by a Clean Communities grant given to the Borough of Kenilworth.

Yoga Story Time
Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30am – 11:00am.
This program will be presented by Certified Yoga Instructor Pamela Nixon.
Ages: 2 – 5 years old with a caregiver. Please bring along a yoga mat or towel.

Ways Of Water
Thursday, July 21 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Join us for this interactive event featuring water related science experiments and circus fun. Ages 4 – adult. This program will be presented by The Grand Falloons. This program has been funded by a Recycling Grant given to The Borough of Kenilworth.

Rhythm Dances From Around The World
Thursday, July 21 at 7:00am – 11:00am.
Interactive international dancing presented by Okra Dance Company. Ages 4 – adult. Program has been funded by a Cultural Arts Grant.

LaserScience Show
Monday, July 25 at 11:00am – 12:00pm.
Join us for an amazing laser show presented by Wondergy. Ages 4 – adult. Program has been funded by The Ralph Errington Foundation.

Boogie Woogie Babies
Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30am – 11:00am.
Children ages 0 – 5 will enjoy this interactive program filled with music and movement. This program will be presented by Tffany Taylor.

Good Tymes String Band
Wednesday, July 27 at 10:30am – 11:00am.
Foot tapping knee slapping music for all ages.
