Peace Through Service

Warren Township Schools values its relationship with the Lions Club and continues to be appreciative of the support the club provides to the district. The club’s intentions are to bring caring people together to improve their community, lead by example and build relationships through kindness.
According to lionsclubs.org, “For over three decades, Lions Clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity.”
For the 2020-2021 year, the contest theme is “We Are All Connected.” Due to the ongoing global pandemic, many individuals have faced extreme hardship. Students were invited to illustrate and celebrate the things that kept people connected.
Dr. Susan Cooper, E2 teacher, from Warren Middle School encourages student participation in the poster contest. On Monday, April 6, Cooper was informed that grade seven Warren Middle School student, Kayla Peng’s Peace Poster was awarded first place by District 16-J of the Lions Club. Lions District 16-J is made up of 60 clubs in New Jersey.
Peng’s amazing poster depicts “Peace Through Service.” The district is extremely proud of Miss. Peng.
