Katie Ledden records 1,000th career point

On January 3, 2022, Katie Ledden, a Clark resident and a senior at Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, scored her 1,000th career High School point in a 86-55 victory over Hillsborough. Ledden came into the game needing 21 points to join the elite 1,000 point club and recorded 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in the game to help her team to victory. Ledden’s name will now be affixed to the girl’s prestigious 1,000 point banner hanging in Rutgers Prep gym. In the history of Rutgers Prep girls basketball, only 12 girls’ basketball players have achieved this milestone. Ledden hopes to end her High School basketball career by helping her team to win another state title, before she begins her collegiate career at the University of Rhode Island.
