We are so pleased to welcome Jeffrey Vanterpool of Scotch Plains to the Board of Trustees at Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss in Mountainside and Newark. As an employee health & benefits professional for over 25 years, Jeff is the Managing Director of Service and Operations of the Employee Health & Benefits Division for Marsh & McLennan Agency. Throughout his career, Jeff has consistently provided solutions to organizations throughout a diverse market by maintaining focus on the goals and objectives of his clients and understanding the culture and community of the organization. Jeff is also a former accident and health underwriter and served as the Director of Underwriting for a top 10 insurance benefits consulting firm.

Born in the Bronx, NY Jeff is a graduate of Stony Brook University and is a “transplant” into the Garden State as he now lives in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. He is an avid golfer, hoops player and enjoys participating in his 2 daughters’ youth sports teams.

When asked about his decision to join the Imagine Board, Jeff said: “It is an honor to have been considered to serve on the Board of Trustees for Imagine. The services and support that Imagine provides is invaluable and I am looking to add my experience, knowledge, energy and listening ear to those that are in need. Intervention into a young person’s life during a time of trauma can make a significant difference and help lead to a healthy upbringing. My goal, along with those of the Imagine team is to continue to bring as much awareness and increase the support to the families and communities in need. This is a very important part of serving people as a fellow human being that I am anxious to be a part of for now and the future.”

Imagine offers grief and loss education and training to the community and free year-round grief support groups for children age 3-18 who have had a parent or brother or sister die. Concurrent groups are available for parents and guardians, and young adults 18-30. For more information please contact Imagine at 908-264-3100 or info@imaginenj.org.
