“How Trees Work” – August 21st
Please join us at Hanson Park on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. for “How Trees Work,” an educational program for 3rd-5th graders. During this free, hour-long class, students will learn all about trees from Master Tree Steward, Dean Talcott. Some of the topics covered will include: why leaves fall, the types of trees in NJ, how to tell the age of a tree and all about maple sugaring. A round of Tree Jeopardy will be played, all while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the park.
Hanson Park is located at 38 Springfield Ave. in Cranford, NJ. This program is recommended for children in third through fifth grade. Registration is not required. In the event of inclement weather, we will be relocating to the Cranford Community Center at 220 Walnut Ave. This presentation is sponsored by the Hanson Park Conservancy, a non-profit group dedicated to developing and maintaining Hanson Park and providing the community with educational programs and workshops.
