(above) Girl Scouts Week. Mayor Colleen Mahr presented a proclamation for Girl Scout Week to girls from Troops 40370 and 40777, along with Julie Murphy, member of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scout Service Team. There are almost 800 Girl Scouts in Fanwood-Scotch Plains in 86 troops. Girl Scouts was founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia.
(above) Michael Kelly, member of the Fanwood Recreation Commission, was named Volunteer of the Month. Mayor Mahr expressed appreciation on behalf of the Council for Mike’s tireless service to our community for creating and promoting Fanwood’s vibrant Recreation programs.
