The Heart of the City festival taking place on Saturday, August 5 from 12:00-6:00 PM on E. Cherry St. Heart of the City aims to shine a spotlight on the immense talent of the local Black and Brown community in the New Jersey area, with an emphasis on Rahway creatives.
The festival promises to be an exciting event filled with a variety of activities, perfect for the whole family. Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of vendors, including small businesses and talented artists showcasing their unique creations as well as performances by local musicians and a live DJ to keep the energy going throughout the afternoon. To truly highlight the sense of togetherness that this festival aims to provide, there will be a community art project that all are welcome to participate in to express their creativity.

Since its inception, the festival has been committed to celebrating diversity and providing a platform for underrepresented artists and entrepreneurs to showcase their work. Through this celebration of cultural heritage, the Heart of the City Festival brings individuals together as part of Rahway’s downtown arts community. Heart of the City is a not-for-profit event that aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for artists, local businesses, and attendees while uplifting creative endeavors.
