Guest Speaker Visits ALJ’s American Sign Language Classes

Matthew Runyon, former Clark student, recently visited Arthur L. Johnson High School’s (ALJ) American Sign Language classes as a guest presenter. Mr. Runyon shared his experiences growing up Deaf in the Clark Public Schools. In addition to showing the students a Powerpoint about his life, Mr. Runyon involved students in fun ASL games and a very informative question and answer session interpreted by ALJ ASL teacher, Loren Hsu. Over 100 students and administrators attended this presentation.
“It was so wonderful to see all my students using their ASL skills to communicate with former Clark student, Matthew Runyon,” stated Hsu.
