Grover Cleveland School’s Wrestling Club
Rahway Public Schools
The 2022-2023 School year marks the second year of the Grover Cleveland Wrestling Club. Last year we had a co-ed group of roughly 20 wrestlers between grades 4th and 5th. This year, we have increased our number to 33 students between 4th and 6th grades.
The club is very popular here in Rahway. We go over different wrestling-designed drills ranging from wrestling stances, single and double leg takedowns, standups and reversals, film study, as well as team-building exercises and workouts.
The Coach of Grover Cleveland’s wrestling club is Physical Educator Aaron Landy. Mr. Landy is a former wrestler who was a 2-time district place winner and region qualifier and placed top 5 in the county tournament in high school. He went on the wrestle open tournaments in college and competes in the sport of powerlifting, where he earns many accolades, boasting an over 500lb deadlift.
Mr. Landy is excited to take the Grover Cleveland Wrestling club to new heights as he hopes to build a competitive team in the future. Grover Cleveland’s co-ed wrestling club is excited to continue Rahway Wrestling’s historic tradition!
