Kindergarteners Read to the Principals

Kindergarteners at Grover Cleveland Elementary School are getting excited about reading, thanks to a new program that allows them to read to the Principal and Vice Principal once they master a book.
The program is simple: when Kindergarteners finish reading a book, their teacher sends them to the Principal’s office. The Principal and Vice Principal then listen to the student read the book aloud. Once the student has finished reading, the Principal and Vice Principal give them a pin that says “I Read to the Principal” and their name is added to a poster in the Principal’s office.
The program has been a huge success with the Kindergarteners. They love the opportunity to read to the Principal and Vice Principal and are very proud of themselves when they get their pin.
“We are excited to see how much the Kindergarteners enjoy this program,” said Mr. Giambrone. “It is a great way to promote literacy and encourage them to become lifelong readers.”
