Grover Cleveland Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day on November 7th with a special assembly honoring those who have served in the United States military. The assembly featured music, presentations, and remarks from special guests, including local veterans Gary Bresinger and Steven Brown.
Mr. Bresinger, father of student Samantha Bresinger, served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Brown, grandfather of student Zak Awkward, served in the United States Marine Corps. Both veterans shared their stories of service with the students and spoke about the importance of remembering and honoring veterans.
The assembly also featured Mr. Barry Rosenzwieg, who served in the Army and played patriotic songs that children sang along to.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to honor our veterans and teach our students about the importance of their service,” said Principal Al Giambrone. “Our veterans have made many sacrifices to protect our freedom, and we owe them a debt of gratitude.”
The assembly was a special event for the entire Grover Cleveland community. It was a time to remember and honor those who have served our country, and to teach our children about the importance of patriotism and service.
