Green Brook Police Department Awards Ceremony

Submitted by Captain Samuel J. Caramela

The Green Brook Police Department is proud to announce the hiring of a new officer and the issuance of commendation awards to officers for exceptional acts performed over the past year.
During the Green Brook Township Committee Meeting held on December 18, 2017, Mayor Patrick Boccio performed a swearing-in ceremony for the department’s newest member, Officer Anthony Domanoski, who joins the Green Brook Police Department after earning a degree in Criminal Justice from Ocean County College and graduating from the Monmouth County Police Academy. Prior to serving in Green Brook, Officer Domanoski served with the Allenhurst and Manalapan Police Departments as a Class II officer.
The annual Green Brook Police Department Awards Ceremony was then led by Chief G. Christopher Kurz who stated “This ceremony is to recognize officers who’ve performed exceptional acts beyond the regular call of duty during the past year. Though I’m proud to say our officers continually strive to provide a high level of service for our community, there are times when the unexpected occurs and the officers are challenged to perform acts that save lives or otherwise keep people safe.”
The awards were then presented in order of occurrence as follows:
Sergeant Gregory Victor, Detective Gary Maurer, Officer Randy Stratton and Officer Kevin O’Connor each received a Life Saving Award for their actions on December 22, 2016 in saving the life of a male suffering from an opioid overdose, during which cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed and Naloxone Hydrochloride was administered.
Officer Jonathan Camp received a Letter of Commendation for his actions on April 1, 2017 resulting in the arrest of a male suspect for possession and distribution of C.D.S.
