In their very first year as a troop, Girl Scout Troop 40234 from Valley Road School, made it their mission to give back to the Clark community. Since forming in September 2017, they have cleaned up trash and fixed up the flower bed outside of their school, and collected and donated books to a local non-profit that distributes them to underserved areas in NJ. Their most notable recent efforts included donating a large portion of the proceeds from their nut and cookie sales to the Clark Volunteer Fire Department and Clark Police Department (in the form of “on-the-go bags”). Troop 40234 was even recognized by Girl Scouts Heart of NJ for their good deeds. These girls are very excited to discover new ways to help their community next year.
