Garwood Announces Launch of Small Business Advisory Board

Garwood Small Business Advisory Board

The new board will provide resources to businesses to help them thrive.

The Borough of Garwood recently announced the launch of a new Small Business Advisory Board, a group tasked with fostering a healthy and vibrant business community by ensuring that small businesses with fewer than 35 employees have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.

“The small businesses that call Garwood home are important to our community and are invested in our future,” said Garwood Mayor Sara Todisco. “By creating the Small Business Advisory Board, Garwood’s diverse and innovative small business will have a new source of support. When our small businesses are strong, Garwood is strong.”

Many of the small businesses in Garwood are owned by and employ residents who live in the Borough. The Small Business Advisory Board will create Borough-wide strategies that promote Garwood’s small businesses’ interests and provide programmatic support, such as consulting, to help small businesses remain competitive and grow.

The Small Business Advisory Board will be composed of borough leaders and business owners from across sectors and industries appointed by Mayor Todisco. The Small Business Advisory Board plans to convene quarterly, with additional meetings as necessary.

Local business owner Joshua Rosenberg said, “We are very excited about the possibility of being able to share our experience, expertise, and knowledge with those in the community who need it. I’m thankful for the Mayor’s and Council’s support.”

Local small business owners interested in becoming a member of the board can submit their contact information and resume to smallbusiness@garwood.org.
