Garwood Public Library Announces October Programs and Events

Garwood Public Library October 2020 Events

The Garwood Library is now open to the public Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Five people are permitted in the library at a time for thirty minutes. Curbside service is also available.

A meeting of the Garwood Library Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the Library. This meeting is open to the public. Masks and social distancing are required

The Garwood Library in collaboration with Wakefern Afterschool Enrichment Programs brings you kid’s cooking class every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in October. Pick up your pre-made ingredient kit box at the library before the virtual class begins at 3:30. The menu themes include “Fall into Flavor”, “Hidden Veggies”, “All Things in a Mug” and “Harry’s Hogwarts’s Party”. The class is open to children in grades 3 to 6. Please register for the class by phone or on the Garwood Library’s events calendar. The class is limited to 20 participants. Please note: although all these recipes do not contain nuts, we cannot ensure each ingredient is produced in a nut free facility.

Join us for Virtual Kid’s Craft on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 3 p.m. Pick up Supplies form 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 13. A craft tutorial will appear on Facebook Premiere on the Library’s Facebook page on October 13 at 3 p.m. The video will be available for viewing thereafter. Registration is required and is limited to 15 participants. Sign up on the Library website’s events calendar or by phone.

Zoom Lego continues every Thursday in October. Join us at 3:30 p.m. each Thursday for a new build. Sign up on the calendar section of Garwood Public Library’s website or give us a call. The Zoom link will be sent to you by email.

The Garwood Library in collaboration with The Guitar Den presents “Introduction to Ukulele” on October 20 at 4 p.m. Children and adults will learn the basics of the ukulele in an interactive Zoom Workshop. Registration is required on the library website calendar or by phone. The Zoom link will be provided to registrants via email.

Join our Virtual Adult Craft on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Pick up your craft supplies from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 27. A craft tutorial will appear on Facebook Premiere on the Library’s Facebook page on October 27 at 3 p.m. The video will be available for viewing thereafter. It’s time for another photo contest at the Library. This time it’s a Spooktacular Pet Photo Challenge, open to all Garwood residents. Just snap a picture of your pet dressed in their best Halloween costume, (no humans in the picture please) Email your picture to garwoodlibrary@garwood.orgfrom October 1 through October 28. Your picture may be posted on the Library’s Facebook and Instagram page. Best picture, as decided by the Garwood Library staff on October 30, will win a $50 Amazon card.
