YoBOO

Yobo is a unique take on fitness for little ones (ages 2-8). It combines the aerobic fun of Bootcamp with the powerful breathing techniques of Yoga, a fun energy rollercoaster for kids. Registration required. Limit 10.
Bookmark Contest
May 9 through May 31
The Library wants you to design a summer reading bookmark, combing this year’s theme (oceans) and reading. One student from each grade will have their bookmark printed and distributed by the library for everyone to enjoy! Please check our website and watch the Friday Folder for contest rules. This contest is open to Garwood residents only.
Virtual Kid’s Craft
May 10, at 3 pm
Pick up supplies for the craft and then watch the craft tutorial on the Library’s Facebook page at 3 p.m. The video will be available for viewing thereafter. Registration is required for craft kits and is limited to 15 participants. Sign up on the Library website’s events calendar or by phone.

Author, Tiffany Jackson

The Libraries of Union Speaker Series presents an evening with New York Times bestselling author of young adult books, Tiffany Jackson. Her novels include Monday’s Not Coming, a book based on the unexplained, unresolved disappearances of Black children in America, received the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award for New Talent from the American Library Association in 2019. Her novel Allegedly, about the struggle of a recently incarcerated teen girl, was an NAACP Image Award nominee. In 2021, she co-authored “The Awakening of Malcolm X”.
