Garwood Police Department Now Recruiting for First Ever Garwood Police Youth Academy

The Garwood Police Department, in conjunction with Garwood Municipal Alliance, will be hosting our first ever Garwood Police Youth Academy, Garwood, New Jersey. The Youth Academy is an opportunity for our young residents to not only get to know our officers but to get hands on experience of what a career in law enforcement is like.
The Inaugural session of the Garwood Police Department Youth Academy is scheduled for the week of August 20 to 24, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The week will be filled with activities, team building projects, physical training, demonstrations from law enforcement units from around the County and State.
The Graduation for recruits and their families will be held on Saturday August 25th. The program is offered to Garwood youth in grades 6th through 8th of the 2018/2019 school year. The cost for each recruit will be $30. Parents or guardians looking to enroll their children can contact Sgt. John Wright or Sgt. Philip Lewis for an application by calling 908-789-1500.
