The Garwood & Mountainside Fire Departments held a joint drill, April 22, 2018, on a soon to be demolished home in Garwood. Multiple scenarios were used: search and rescue, mayday calls, and basement fires, to name a few. The Garwood and Mountainside First Aid Squads also participated. Garwood Fire Chief Alan Tweedle and Mountainside Fire Chief Anthony Pecorelli said both departments gained valuable training.
