Annual Harvest Festival at the historic Frazee Farmstead

Frazee House Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch

The Rotary Frazee House committee and the Township of Scotch Plains will host the annual Harvest Festival at the historic Frazee Farmstead on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 12 to 5 p.m., 1451 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains – rain or shine. There will be activities for every age group: live music, games, pony rides, a petting zoo, food trucks, pumpkin tossing, a haunted trail and the Great Pumpkin Patch.“We continue to make progress on the Frazee renovation. This year we began the construction of a bathroom cottage adjacent to the house and it will include two bathrooms and a utility area where the meters for the gas, electric and water will be located. An ADA accessible ramp will allow access to the bathrooms and to the house. The two rooms in the West wing of the house are also being renovated, including power, data ports, heat and air conditioning.” said Andy Calamaras, President of the Frazee House Board.The Harvest Festival is great opportunity forthe community to visit the site and see for themselves.

Additionally, in October, overlapping the date of Harvest Festival, will be the Frazee House participation with Union County’s annual “FourCenturies in a Weekend,” on October 21 and 22. Representatives will be at the Frazee site on both days with brochures, bookmarks, a video demonstration and an external tour of the house. History buffscan note that the Frazee House is one of the stops on the Battle ofShort Hills Historic Trail as well as being renowned for the legendary confrontation between General Cornwallis and Aunt Betty Frazee.

The Great Pumpkin Patch, is ongoing from October 1st through31st.There will be hundreds of pumpkins in various sizes and colors, and they’ll be sold every day from 11am to dusk.  The site will be decorated for Halloween and is the perfect setting for fall photos.
