Academic Excellence Awards

On Friday, March 5, 2021, Franklin Elementary School in Rahway held a virtual Second Marking Period Academic Excellence Awards Celebration to honor the following exemplary fifth and sixth graders: Jason Afum, Sofia Da Silva, Elias Sanchez Lopez, David Wilk, Christian Morim, Steven Rosario, Lydell James, Isabella Prado, Ashly Ashby, Hazel Hernandez, Chyanne Jazikoff, Sebastian Quinones Cortes, Leonardo Delgado Caceres, Byron Gillard, and Saaya Kadakia.
In order to be recognized for this achievement, students had to earn an A in every subject, which is an average of 90 or higher for the first marking period. Students received a certificate in the mail along with a pizza coupon to recognize their hard work. The virtual celebration began with a message from Dr. Aleya Shoieb, the school’s principal, followed by Dr. Juan Miao, the school’s vice-principal, then each teacher shared some congratulatory words. Parents and students also had a chance to say something as well. The celebration was filled with smiles and laughter.
