In a 25+ year annual tradition the Angel Tree is once again standing in the Florham Park Post Office at 187 Columbia Turnpike.

Sponsored by the Florham Park Rotary in coordination with the NJ state Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Rotary members decorated the tree on Friday, November 17.   Written on each tag is the wish of a local child.  Per Rotarian Rex Lyon, in many cases these may be the only gift they receive for the holidays.

Examples of ornament wishes from previous years include:

  • No. 5, 13-month old male – diapers (size 5), Crayola color wonder markers/set, and a ball.
  • No. 14, 5-year old female – Hannah Montana dolls, kitchen toys, anything with unicorns, and age appropriate books
  • No. 29, 12-year old female – clothing (girls size 7/8), nail polish kit, sneakers (girls size 7), winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf anything for drawing, coloring or painting

Residents and businesses are encouraged to donate new holiday gifts under the Anger ree by reading the ornaments, selecting a wish they can grant, and returning the wrapped gift by December 20.
