After two years of mostly meeting via Zoom, the Florham Park AARP is happy to announce a resumption of in-person meetings again at the Florham Park Community & Recreation Center on April 19!

Making that meeting even more special will be the:

Recognition of our AARP President, for “JOELYN HOFERER DAY” as proclaimed for her volunteerism at the February 2022 Borough Council meeting, and;

Presentation of “Sweet Treats: Desserts & Delicacies from the Garden State”. Presented by the Madison Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, this program will explore a variety of “sweet” culinary traditions from the 18th and 19th centuries and considers how the treats we enjoy have changed. It will also discuss the process and ingredients of making these food items, then and now.

This free meeting and presentation is from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and all members of the community who are between the ages of 50 through 120 are welcome to attend. While AARP membership is not required, applications will be available for anyone interested! If wishing to join, dues are only $12 per year.

At this point the Florham Park AARP Chapter is the lone remaining AARP Chapter in Morris County. This April meeting is an example of the informative and entertaining regular monthly meetings.

As the AARP Magazine and AARP Bulletin frequently recommend, being an active member of clubs is important for seniors in so many ways” says Peter Nicolas – Florham Park AARP Membership Chair.
