For a first year event, the Millington Fire Company Food Truck Festival drew in a sizable number of attendees, despite the threat of rain. Residents of Long Hill Township, along with people from surrounding towns, came out to support the local fire company. Throughout the day there was live music, outdoor games, and a line to dunk a firefighter. The dunk tank featured a fire chief, firefighters, and the Long Hill mayor! Music was provided throughout the day by a steel drum band, and a local classic rock band, Tuesdays @ Eight. Bolero Snort Brewery, Magnify Brewing, and Hoboken 902 were the local breweries at the event. Food trucks included Where’s The Food?, GiGi and Big R Caribbean American Soul Food, Ann’s Catering, Kona Ice (A percentage of every purchase at the Kona Ice truck supports a child who is a burn victim.), Roy’s Ice Cream, Baker’s Authentic Grilling, and Maddelenas Cheesecake. As the event was concluding, votes were counted, and Maddelenas Cheesecake was awarded with a fire helmet stating, “Millington Fire Company Food Truck Festival Chief.” Sponsors included J & C Enterprise, George C. Bott Plumbing & Heating, Garden State Fireworks, Long Hill Automotive, Karg’s Plumbing & Heating, Millington Savings Bank, DeBiasse Brothers Landscaping, Tracy Marie Photography, Scott Rose Trucking and Excavating, Valley Automotive, and Millington Auto Body. The fire company is grateful to all those who attended the event and is already planning for next year!
