Fifth Annual Argyle Fish & Chips Dinner Event in Stirling on Saturday, September 22

The First Presbyterian Church of Stirling is holding its annual Argyle Fish & Chips Dinner event on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. This marks the fifth year of this fundraising event, usually held in the spring, but which this year will be held on the first day of Autumn.

Plans are to dine outside on the front lawn as has been the custom each year; some indoor seating will also be available. In the event of rain, the entire event will be held indoors. As in previous years, bagpiper David Palladino is scheduled to make an appearance, to provide the proper Scottish flair for the event.

The dinner is catered by Argyle Restaurant in Kearny, NJ. Their Fish & Chips dinner is legendary and loved by many in the community. Dinner includes fish, chips, coleslaw, beverage and dessert. A “chicken option” is available for those who prefer it. Take-out meals are available and welcomed.

Funds raised at this annual event support the church and its missions. The church’s mission of “Feeding Those Who Hunger” is met in a literal sense here: in the past 4 years of this event, well over 100 free dinner tickets have been given to community members in need.

The church is located 158 Central Avenue in Stirling, one block north of the train station. Tickets in advance are $21 each ($16 for seniors, and $12 for children under 10) and are available from the church office or from any church member. Prices are more at the door, so people are advised to get their tickets early! For more info, contact the church at 908-647-1033 or visit online at www.fpcstirling.org or on Facebook.
