College Club Calendar now available

Each year the College Club of Fanwood-Scotch Plains honors one of its long-time advertisers in the Community Date Calendar. The 60th edition of the community calendar features the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League (FSPSL) whose volunteers operate the Thrift Shop at 1741 East Second Street, Scotch Plains. The FSPSL is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023 and has supported the community during these 50 years by providing grants to local organizations and scholarships to local students.

The FSPSL has also been a loyal supporter of the College Club Community Date Calendar for more than 15 years.

Arlene Knox, President of the FSPSL notes, “Thrifting no longer carries the stigma it once did, and it supports reduce, reuse, recycle which is good for the environment.” The Thrift Shop offers an extensive variety of items for sale that are all gently used or new.

The Community Date Calendar is available for purchase at the Thrift Shop as well as at Norman’s Hallmark, Scotchwood Florist, Mountain Deli, Shear Magic, Apple Blossom Flower Shop, the Scotch Plains Library, and from any College Club member.

Due to the generosity and loyalty of the local advertisers listed in the calendar, the donation price of $10 goes directly into the College Club’s scholarship fund.
