Facing today’s teens and young adults: Prescription Drugs and Heroin Overdosing

Temple Har Shalom invites the community at large to free education sessions where parents and teens can discover more about this nationwide crisis. Drug abuse and drug overdoses were the leading cause of accidental death in the United States in 2016. Currently, opiates are some of the most abused drugs in our country, with prescription opiates accounting for up to 5.1 million cases of addiction.
Bruce E. Ruck, PharmD, DABAT, RPH, the Managing Director/Director of Drug Information at the New Jersey Poison Center will lead two sessions. The first will be Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00pm for parents and caregivers; the second will be Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00pm for teenagers. Both events are free to the public and will take place at Temple Har Shalom, 104 Mount Horeb Road, Warren, N.J. We encourage teachers, school administrators, coaches, faith leaders, and social workers to attend the parent program.
