For the thousands of children who are either homeless or living with its threat, the phrase There’s No Place Like Home has a special, poignant meaning, one the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless knows well.
On Wednesday, May 16, the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless will host its annual No Place Like Home to raise funds for its children’s programs, including Bernice’s Place, New Jersey’s only after-school and summer program for homeless and at risk children. Last year, the Coalition was able to establish a dog therapy program to help the children they serve who have physical, behavioral and emotional issues. Other sponsorships include the adoption of transitional houses to help with the upkeep and rent.
There’s No Place Like Home takes place at The Grand Summit Hotel, 570 Springfield Avenue, Summit. The $75 ticket includes cocktails, dinner, and music. For more information, visit theelizabethcoalition.eventbrite.com.

About Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless
The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless is a nonprofit established more than 35 years ago to serve the needs of the homeless and near homeless in the community. Through the agency, clients are given the tools they need to transition to safe, affordable housing so they can live healthy, productive lives, and where they are accepted as members of the community.
The Elizabeth Coalition focuses on teaching people to self-advocate and to empower themselves to become self-sufficient. The agency seeks to build a community of support and compassion in partnership with St. Joseph Social Service Center, the community-at-large, volunteers, and other agencies committed to advancing the interests of homeless and near homeless people.
