Eagle Scout Project Improves Dealaman Pond Hiking Trail

Submitted by Troop 228
Rob Pilsbury from Boy Scout Troop 228 in Warren, decided to improve and revitalize one of the hiking trails at Dealaman Pond for his Eagle Project.  One of the problem sections of the trail gets extremely muddy after rain and becomes inaccessible to hikers. Rob began his project in July which entailed laying down a boardwalk/bog bridge over this area of path, about 100 feet in length.  His project also included moving part of the trail over to an area not so boggy, laying down woodchips and clearing the trail of weeds.  Rob also placed trail markers along the section of trail, and put up a couple of new signs to help hikers find their way along the trail.  Rob oversaw and guided the project, which consisted of over 300 hours of service hours provided by scouts and adults from Troop 228 in addition to Rob, his family and friends.
