Eagle Scout Charles “Buddy” Steen

Charles “Buddy” Steen has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America.

The multiyear journey to the Eagle Scout Award is one of the most involved and transformative experiences a young person can have. They try new things through the merit badge program, develop confidence in the outdoors, practice leadership tactics, and plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project that benefits their community.

For Charles’s Eagle Scout service project, he cleaned and refurbished the Prayer Garden at Stonecrest Church, Warren, NJ, and built and installed outdoor furniture for the garden on a new bed of walking stone.

But the Scouting experience goes far deeper than one big project. Charles also learned through Scouting and earning his Eagle Award many life lessons, qualities, and character as exemplified by the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

The court of honor was held on Saturday, July 16th at Stonecrest Community Church in Warren, NJ.
