Read to a Therapy Dog at SCLSNJ

According to research from Tufts University, reading to a therapy dog can enforce positive attitudes in children about literacy. On December 11, children in grades K-4 and their caregivers discovered the benefits of reading aloud to a therapy dog at the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s (SCLSNJ) Watchung Library branch. Library customers took turns reading to Zoe the Therapy Dog, in the Library’s children’s department.

SCLSNJ offers the opportunity to read to a therapy dog multiple times a month at various branches across the system. Explore the calendar for upcoming sessions: sclsnj.libnet.info/events.
