Each year, during the month of December, the Watchung Arts Center features the work of its artist members. The 2016 Annual Watchung Arts Center Members’ Juried Art Exhibition will open on Saturday, December 3 and remain on display until December 23. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, December 4 from 1-4 PM to announce the winners of this juried exhibition. The First Place winner of the exhibition will be awarded a solo show in the Lower Gallery during 2017.
In conjunction with the Members’ Exhibit, the center’s Lower Gallery will feature the work of artist Linda Lam, the winner of the 2015 WAC Members’ Juried Exhibition, in an exhibit entitled “Faces and Blossoms”. Lam has an MA in Economics from Hunter College of NY, and spent twenty years as a Market Analyst for AT&T and HSBC but, as the third generation of a family of artists, she says, “Art is my heritage, my vocabulary and my way of living”. Linda paints and draws directly from life. “The emotion of a face and the expression of a blossom inspire me. In addition to receiving a First Place award in the 2015 WAC Members’ Exhibition, she also received and Award of Merit in the 2014 show, as well as a Third Place award in this years’ Contemporary Art Group show at the Watchung Arts Center.
